Illumio Named One of the Bay Areas Best Places to Work

Company’s first nomination lands them in the top 10 for creating an exceptional workplace

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — April 25, 2016 Illumio, the Adaptive Security Company, today announced it has been recognized as one of the 2016 Bay Area Best Places to Work.

Presented by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Journal, the award honors Illumio for creating an exceptional workplace that is valued highly by its employees. As part of the award process, Illumio was rated on values that spanned culture to compensation and benefits. Illumio’s ranking of sixth-place ranking in the midsize company category was unveiled at an awards program on April 19, 2016.

“The recognition of Illumio by our employees as one of the Bay Area’s best places to work is testament to the motivation and talent of our entire team,” said Andrew Rubin, CEO and co-founder of Illumio. “We are committed to continuing to create an environment in which everyone has the opportunity to do career-defining work and be part of an exceptional team.”

Illumio recently hired Emily Couey as its first Vice President of People to expand the company’s focus on employee development and to grow its investment in talent as it continues its global expansion.

Illumio is leading a new security paradigm called “adaptive security,” which Gartner recently recognized as one of its Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends for 2016. The company grew rapidly in 2015—its first full year of shipping—acquiring several dozen enterprise customers and doubling its team from 75 to 155 to keep up with demand while continuing innovation and development.
