At Illumio, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation for all Illumineers—no matter where they work. Our compensation philosophy is designed to attract, reward, engage, and retain world-class talent using a data-driven and market-competitive approach.
In support of that commitment, we use location-based tiers that align compensation with the cost of labor in different markets. This approach supports employees in similar roles and locations to be compensated appropriately based on local market data.
How It Works
We group U.S. locations into tiers based on independent 3rd party local market data. These tiers help guide salary ranges for most roles. An employee’s home zip code determines their location-based tier—unless they work at our Headquarters in Sunnyvale, California, which is always classified as Tier 1, regardless of home zip code.
NOTE: While most roles follow location-based compensation tiers, some positions use a uniform pay band across geographies. If you have questions about how this applies to the role you’re interested in, please reach out to your Talent Partner for more information.
