Additional PCE Migration Window

The Additional PCE Migration Window add-on adds one more migration window to an On-Premise PCE > SaaS Migration engagement.

The core migration package includes four migration windows, which is enough for most customers to move their VEN-managed workloads to the SaaS PCE. Some environments need more. Common reasons are a large workload estate, tight change-freeze calendars, business units that have to migrate separately, or workloads that couldn't move in their original window and need to be rescheduled.

Each add-on covers one migration window. In it, Illumio Professional Services migrates the agreed group of VEN-managed workloads to the SaaS PCE, monitors connectivity and policy synchronization as they move, resolves issues as they come up, and validates the result. The work follows the same method, tooling, and validation approach as the core migration package.

Customers can buy as many add-ons as they need. Each one represents one-quarter of the effort of the core migration package at the matching size.

Technical Readiness

• Readiness review and dry run completed through the core migration package
• SaaS PCE configured with the migrated objects and configuration
• PCE and VEN versions in the window meet migration requirements
• Workloads in the window have network connectivity to the SaaS PCE
• Administrative access to the on-premise and SaaS PCEs for Illumio Professional Services  

Customer Readiness

• Workloads in the window identified and agreed
• Window scheduled and change approval obtained
• Platform, network, and application staff available during the window

Window Planning

• Confirm which workloads and applications are in the window.
• Confirm that the workloads meet version and connectivity requirements.
• Confirm that any open issues from earlier windows affecting this group have been resolved.
• Agree the window schedule, migration order, and rollback approach with customer stakeholders.

Customer Outcome

The customer has a confirmed, approved plan for the workloads moving in this window.

Window Migration

• Migrate the agreed VEN-managed workloads to the SaaS PCE using the established migration method.
• Monitor workload connectivity and synchronization throughout the window.
• Address migration, VEN connectivity, and policy synchronization issues as they come up.

Customer Outcome

The agreed workloads move to the SaaS PCE in a controlled, monitored window.

Window Validation and Handoff

• Confirm that migrated workloads are connected and synchronized with the SaaS PCE.
• Confirm that policy applies correctly to the migrated workloads.
• Document the window outcome, including workloads migrated, issues resolved, and any workloads that didn't migrate.
• Review the results with customer stakeholders.

Customer Outcome

The customer has validated, documented confirmation of the workloads migrated in this window, plus a clear record of anything still outstanding.

Each add-on is delivered as one migration window, scheduled with the customer and approved through its change-management process. Effort scales with the purchased size, matched to the core migration package.

Delays in version upgrades, connectivity, or change approvals may affect when the window can run.
