Illumio Ranked as a Strong Performer in Zero Trust eXtended (ZTX) Ecosystem Providers Report
Cybersecurity platform receives the highest marks possible in workload security, visibility and analytics, automation and orchestration, management and visibility, and portfolio growth rate criteria
SUNNYVALE, Calif. – November 14, 2018 – Illumio, a cybersecurity leader focused on micro-segmentation, today announced that it has been ranked as a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave™ Zero Trust eXtended (ZTX) Ecosystem Providers, Q4 2018 report. The report profiles 14 vendors who most closely align with Forrester's ZTX framework to inform and guide security professionals on their Zero Trust journey.
"A key factor for any Zero Trust enterprise or strategy is to know what assets and controls are in place and to be able to understand, with context, what transactions and threats are critical to the business," writes Chase Cunningham, principal analyst serving security & risk professionals, Forrester, in the report. "In this regard, Illumio shines. The technology provided by the vendor aligns well with enabling the establishment of Zero Trust for an organization, and its ability to provide the contextual insight of threat areas and workflows for both security and continuity stand out in the space.”
Illumio ranked second highest in the current offering category, gaining the report’s highest marks possible in workload security, visibility and analytics, automation and orchestration, management and visibility, and portfolio growth rate criteria. Illumio was also recognized by its users for its ability to handle micro-segmentation on the fly, visualization, and usability, which Forrester notes are "all key points in any Zero Trust system."
"The reality is that when it comes to cybersecurity, we have to completely change our mindset and assume breach," said Matthew Glenn, VP of product management, Illumio. "We’ve slipped into a reactive state when it comes to cybersecurity strategies, but we can change this approach by securing networks from the inside out. Illumio developed its platform to democratize micro-segmentation, which removes the complexity and costs associated with the approach from the past. Micro-segmentation, agility, usability and visibility are crucial to a successful Zero Trust approach and moving our cybersecurity posture back to proactive vs. reactive. When we assume breach, we know attackers will get in – but with Zero Trust and micro-segmentation, we limit access to our most valuable assets and rob them of success."
With 300 percent year-over-year bookings growth and international expansion in Europe and Asia Pacific to support customer growth, Illumio has consistently attracted recognition for its industry leadership. The Forrester Wave’s rigorous methodology requires the research team to gather information on vendors that are chosen based on product fit, customer success, and Forrester customer demand. Companies were selected for evaluation based on ZTX capabilities, ZTX alignment, revenues, API integration and mindshare.
In addition to the Forrester Wave Zero Trust report, the company was recently named to the Forbes Cloud 100. Additional accolades in 2018 include the Morgan Stanley CTO Innovation Award and the SIIA CODiE Best Network Security Solution Award. Illumio was also recently named to the CNBC Disruptor 50 list two years in a row and recognized as one of the Bay Area’s Best Places to Work by the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal.
