Illumio Named Best Network Security Solution by SIIA

Illumio Adaptive Security Platform® earns prestigious CODiE Award

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – July 5, 2018 – Illumio today announced its Adaptive Security Platform has been named the Best Network Security Solution of 2018 as part of the annual SIIA CODiE Awards. The SIIA CODiE Awards are the industry's only peer-reviewed awards program.

"The 2018 CODiE Award winners are the most innovative, high-impact products in the market. We are happy to recognize these products and the power they have to transform the future of how we do business," said Ken Wasch, President of SIIA.

Illumio is solving one of the biggest challenges facing organizations – the need to secure data that resides inside global data centers and cloud environments. Illumio's micro-segmentation software, enabled by application dependency and vulnerability mapping, allows customers to see in real time where they are most vulnerable, then create ‘breach-tight’ compartments that prevent bad actors from accessing sensitive data.

"When we founded Illumio, we just kept coming back to the idea that it shouldn’t be so hard to prevent the spread of breaches inside data centers, and as technologists we had the opportunity to solve it – so we did," said PJ Kirner, co-founder and CTO of Illumio. "SIIA's recognition of Illumio further validates that micro-segmentation is fast becoming a foundational element of security."

The first-round review of all nominees is conducted by software and business technology experts with considerable industry expertise, including members of the industry, analysts, media, bloggers, bankers and investors. The scores from the expert judge review determine the finalists. SIIA members then vote on the finalist products, and the scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners. Fifty-one awards were given this year for products and services deployed specifically for B2B software, information and media companies, including the all new Best Overall Business Technology Product, awarded to the product with the highest scores of both rounds of judging.

The Illumio Adaptive Security Platform has received multiple industry accolades in 2018, including the Morgan Stanley CTO Innovation Award and the Cloud Awards’ Security Innovation of the Year. Illumio was also recently named to the CNBC Disruptor 50 list and recognized as one of the Bay Area’s Best Places to Work by the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal.
