What You Missed at the Illumio World Tour NYC: Our 4 Favorite Moments
What happens when you bring the brightest minds in cybersecurity, the latest innovations in Zero Trust, and a global stage together? You get the Illumio World Tour!
This November, the tour hit two iconic cities — New York City and Sydney. As we reflect on our time there, we’re excited to share these highlights from both events.
Watch the video for a brief recap of our first-ever stop in New York City!
1. Zero Trust insights from John Kindervag
A cornerstone of both NYC and Sydney events was the opportunity to hear directly from John Kindervag, the creator of Zero Trust and Illumio’s chief evangelist.
His session, Risk is Danger, questioned the industry's long-time reliance on managing risk rather than addressing danger directly. He urged attendees to embrace Zero Trust as the only security strategy that can reduce cyber risk effectively.
As he put it, “Ignoring cyber risk will lead to the same disasters we see over and over. It’s time for a shift from risk management to danger management.”
Attendees left inspired by his vision and equipped with insights to drive Zero Trust adoption in their organizations.
2. Insights from industry-leading customers and partners
Hearing directly from Illumio customers and partners about their Zero Trust journeys added a personal and practical touch to both events.
We were thrilled to welcome some of our technology partners to the world tour. They shared how their solutions complement Illumio’s Zero Trust Segmentation approach.
We also welcomed Illumio customers. Andrew Dell, CISO at QBE, shared how Illumio Zero Trust Segmentation fits into their large-scale Zero Trust journey and is helping his team protect one of the world’s largest insurance institutions.
His insights on securing complex, global operations gave attendees a clear picture of the real-world power of microsegmentation. Read more about QBE Insurance's microsegmentation success with Illumio in their case study, QBE Insurance Strengthens Its Zero Trust Security With Illumio.
In Sydney, the spotlight turned to a lively panel discussion led by Illumio’s Todd Palmer, senior VP of global partner sales and alliances. The panel, featuring cybersecurity experts and Illumio partners from McGrathNicol and Clyde & Co, dug into the realities of responding to cyber incidents. They shared tips on limiting damage during an attack with microsegmentation and building resilience for the future based on their experience working with clients.
The big takeaway? Zero Trust isn’t just a buzzword — it’s a practical approach to building modern, scalable, and resilient cybersecurity.
3. A closer look at the Illumio Zero Trust Segmentation Platform
The Illumio Zero Trust Segmentation (ZTS) Platform took center stage at both events. Attendees got the chance to get an up-close look at how Illumio ZTS contains breaches with simple microsegmentation and granular visibility.
From interactive demos to real-world case studies, Illumio experts shared the fast, measurable cybersecurity results that are possible with the Illumio ZTS Platform.
4. Meeting you!
One of the most rewarding parts of the tour was the chance to connect face-to-face with so many of you. Whether it was catching up during a session break, chatting over coffee, or discussing specific challenges during interactive workshops, we loved hearing your stories and learning more about your cybersecurity journeys.
From long-time Illumio users to newcomers curious about what’s possible with Illumio ZTS, your insights and enthusiasm made these events special. Thank you for being part of the Illumio community!
