Illumio CEO & Co-Founder Andrew Rubin Receives Distinguished Alumni Award

Illumio CEO and co-founder Andrew Rubin has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumni by his alma mater, Washington University in St. Louis. The award is given to recipients with outstanding professional achievements and those who demonstrate progressive thinking, high standards, and uncompromising integrity.

Andrew graduated from Washington University with a BSBA in Finance. Notably, he was the first undergraduate student to win the Olin Cup, a business plan competition through the Skandalaris Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.

“My years at WashU were foundational,” says Andrew. “I went to the university determined and certain I would pursue a career on Wall Street, but WashU sparked my passion for innovation. When I look back, I realize that WashU helped me become a well-rounded person, and I draw on those experiences every day at the helm of Illumio.”

“I am a proud alumnus and am honored to be among such distinguished company, with each of us working hard to live the ideals embodied by Washington University through our work and service.”

Named one of the “100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs” by Goldman Sachs (as part of its Builders & Innovators program) every year since 2015, Andrew is a frequent participant in panels, articles, and podcasts for leading industry events and publications.
